Callis – Gets you there faster
The AVONA Callis is designed to take road bike speed to gravel roads. The feeling of gliding over rough ground at speed is unparalleled. It is aerodynamic yet compliant, with room for fast rolling tires, at a low weight. Because we focused on all aspects of performance, it is a truly versatile bike. Racing, exploring new roads, or even doing double duty as your road bike, this bike can do it all.
Aerodynamics is an even bigger factor on gravel than on tarmac: Riding gravel often means covering a lot of distance, exposed to the wind, alone or in small groups. The less air you are pushing around, the faster and longer you can go. Therefore, a lot of time went into design and CFD studies, making sure we could get drag as low as possible without compromising other performance factors like weight, stiffness or vertical compliance. During the development it became clear that we should focus on the front end of the bike, where you can get the biggest gains, resulting in the characteristic leading-edge extension of the head tube. In the end, a whopping 25 W drag reduction was confirmed in the GST wind tunnel when comparing it to a competitor bike that already had aerodynamic features.
